Pandit Raghunath Murmu, an Indian Santali writer and educator, is known for creating the Ol Chiki script, which allowed the Santali language to be written down for the first time. Before the nineteenth century, the Santali people relied solely on the oral transmission of knowledge since they did not have a written language.
